How Food Prices are Manipulated

An excellent article by Devinder Sharma, an expert on food and trade policy, based in New Delhi. India is living through his prophesies made in his book, “In the Famine Trap” in 1997. The World Trade Organisation (WTO) too is being unwillingly forced to accept his arguments. His forthcoming book, “Keeping the Other Half Hungry,” is an incisive analysis of how globalisation is accelerating the process of marginalisation of farmers in the Third World.
